Look past the water
A wetland is more than open water. Its edges, cover and prey can form a predator’s habitat. Seeing the Fishing Cat changes the picture: protecting a wetland also means understanding the animal life around and within it.

Field observations and camera records show where Fishing Cats occur. Unsurveyed or apparently suitable wetlands cannot simply be coloured in as occupied habitat.
What don’t we know?
Many modified landscapes remain poorly surveyed. Where can Fishing Cats persist, and what makes those places suitable?
