Why 40 wild cats?
Zoo-EV uses a stable 40-species public framework while tracking changes in scientific classification separately. Why 40?
Wild cats & conservation
Where does the information come from?
Species accounts draw on scientific literature, conservation assessments, taxonomic authorities and specialist research. Sources and their dates belong with the claims they support; species pages provide the evidence behind their stories.
Does Least Concern mean safe?
No. It is an extinction-risk category, not a promise that every population is secure or free from threats. Understand the Red List
Why doesn’t every species have a remaining population number?
Reliable global estimates are not available for every cat. Where the evidence has been reviewed and no defensible total is available, we say so. A research gap is not a reason to invent precision. The Wildcat Data Gap
Are population estimates the same as counts?
No. Estimates infer abundance from evidence and assumptions. Counts document animals under a particular method. Years, geography and age classes must match before figures can be compared. See the Iberian Lynx example
Does Zoo-EV conduct conservation work?
Education and awareness are central to Zoo-EV. Guardians is a developing initiative; activities and partnerships should be described according to their actual stage. This preview does not establish that a field programme is operating. About Guardians

What is Guardians of the Jungle?
Guardians connects wild-cat awareness, understanding, partnerships and conservation, beginning with an inaugural landscape in Nayarit, Mexico.
Is Guardians only for Nayarit?

What is “Nayarit Has a Secret”?
It introduces the six wild cats of Nayarit: Jaguar, Puma, Ocelot, Margay, Jaguarundi and Bobcat.
How are wild cats monitored?
Researchers may use camera traps, genetic evidence, telemetry and field surveys. Each method answers different questions. Zoo-EV will describe any monitoring programme and partners as those plans develop.
Can hotels participate?

Is Zoo-EV a registered nonprofit?
Zoo-EV is an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN 88-3636567.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Zoo-EV is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to Zoo-EV may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Can I donate to a particular species?

Where does a Guardians contribution go?

Who operates the Zoo-EV Store?
Wild Cat Aware, LLC, a separate for-profit company, operates the Zoo-EV Store. Store disclosure
Is a store purchase a donation?
No. A purchase is a commercial transaction, not a charitable contribution.
Why do collections disappear?
The store uses a rotating art-collection model, so collections may be retired rather than remaining permanently available.
Will retired collections return?
Selected work may return through an archive release. A return date is not guaranteed.
Where are products made?
Manufacturing and fulfilment depend on the product. Check its published product details when available; this preview does not yet provide a live catalogue.
Who can help with an order?
