These powerful felines once roamed across a vast range from Turkey to the Russian Far East, but their populations are now fragmented and largely confined to various parts of Asia. Tigers are solitary and territorial animals, primarily inhabiting forests, grasslands, and swamps, often near water sources, as they are strong swimmers. They are apex predators, hunting large ungulates such as deer, wild boar, and buffalo, demonstrating immense strength and stealth in their hunting techniques. Each individual tiger’s stripe pattern is unique, much like human fingerprints.
